~*short rant. no, not a rant about short people...just read it.*~

Well, I turned in the rough draft of my research paper yesterday. I was wrong about how many words it had to be...at least 2000 but no more than 2500. *whew* Here I was thinking it had to be 3000.

So, yeah, I turned it in around 5:30 p.m. and it wasn't due until midnight. Sure, I could have tinkered with it a few more hours, but I didn't see the point.

What's that? Hmm? How many words did I end up with, you ask. Well, not as many as I had hoped for. 1236. I'd like to think that what I lacked in words, I made up for in dazzability :)

Dazzability? Now where did that come from? Anyway, I think my paper is very informative and takes some from rage to more rage. That's where I leave 'em hanging, because I don't have an ending to it yet.

I start with the pharmacist and how/why they refuse to fill prescriptions. I explain the drugs they are refusing and why. I site specific examples and the consequences.

The next part of my paper deals with the consumer and their rights. What has been happening from their viewpoint. I included examples of refusals, and one story about a woman that was refused an emergency contraception.

The story? Sure, I'll tell ya!

This woman was going through a divorce and one night, she was raped by her soon-to-be ex-husband.

She went to see her doctor, and he prescribed the Plan B morning-after pill. In case you don't know...this emergency contraception's job is to stop fertilization of the egg after unprotected sex.

When she went to her pharmacy to have the prescription filled, the pharmacist told her he didn't have it, and it would take too long for her to get it, if he ordered it. The drug must be taken within 72 hours to be effective.

The next pharmacy she went to was located inside of a Wal-Mart. The pharmacist looked at her prescription and told her that they didn't sell it. Then he walked away. She yelled after him and asked him if he could order it. He yelled back at her from about 50 feet away, "I mean we don't kill babies. You'll have to find someone else to do that for you."

Now, I don't think that I could even use this drug, even if it meant my certain death if I was to have the child, but I do believe in a woman having a choice.

I don't want to be all political, but I live in America...the home of the free...free as in freedom.

-dang!

I just looked at the clock and I have about an hour before I have to be at work. My vacation is over. I hate to leave it here, but I have to look good for my first day back.

-leave me a note or tag or guestbook entry if what I have written here is something that you like or dislike. Be as nice as you want to be, or tell me that you hate my take on this subject. I won't mind, at my diary, I believe in free speech...and free nachos for everyone!!!

EATING: nothing, and I don't have enough time to eat :(
HEARING: Comedy Central in the background
READING: nothing...I need a good book...any suggestions?
