I like me

Good news! My dad was released from the hospital yesterday and he's doing fine. He is suffering from depression, but I think he'll break free from that in a little while. Once his strength returns, he'll be as good as he was before.

I am returning to work tomorrow after a week long absence. I talked to my boss last week and told her that I would not be there for awhile, but I never called her again. I may not have a job(the one and the same that I quit and have returned to) when I get back, but I'm not all too worried about that.

Family life still sucks. I definitely get the feeling that I am not wanted by my siblings and their children. I'm different, and I guess because I'm not like them, I'm not welcome. I've been different all my life, and they may have felt this way since I was born, but I was just too naive to notice. Oh well, I like me.

I'm different now than I was last year
Another year older and the stress shows
The lines attack my face from worry and fear
Not enough highs and way too many lows.

Wiser in my ways, I guess I may be
Force-fed life with a serving spoon
I've closed my eyes and refused to see
The sorrow, gloom and doom.

I've appreciated life and the beauty therein
The love and specialness in the heart
But my positive soul is wearing thin
And the negative thoughts are about to start.

Today has me working on a paper. It is on Hinduism and I'm having trouble with it. I don't think my mind can focus just yet, but this assignment is due by midnight. I've already turned in 3 late assignemnts this week, and I'm sure my grades will suffer. I need to turn this one in on time.

Oh, just to show that my life is not all bad luck, I did win $14 on a scratch-off ticket :) It cost me $2, so not too bad. Unfortunately, I did not win anything on the Powerball. From what I hear, no one won the jackpot. Hmm...could my luck be changing? I sure hope so.

Gotta go now. Dinner time. Ham, au gratin potatoes, corn, and bread. Sounds good. Scott made it so I'm sure it's delicious!
